In my media ethics class, our final project was to choose an ethical framework to research, and create a deliverable about our research. This could be done on our own or with a partner, and our final could be a creative project or research paper. Throughout the class, we learned about ethical frameworks and the people who created them. We then analyzed these ethics in advertisements, shows, and case studies, debating whether actions were ethical or not, depending on the framework we used.
I worked with a partner to create our final brochure. We both wanted to do the project on care ethics, so she did the research on the framework, and I used that to create a brochure. The purpose of this was to be able to use this brochure to teach people about the basics of care ethics, including who created it, why it matters, and how it's used in media. This brochure design resulted in my partner and I getting an A on this project, as well as teaching me ethical frameworks, which I use to ensure that any advertisements or work I make are ethical.
