During my last semester at Colorado State University, I took a design workshop where I learned the ins and outs of Adobe Illustrator and dabbled in Figma. One of our main projects was to create a hardcover sleeve for a book of our choosing, as well as a Kindle cover, an Instagram promo carousel, and a small promo animation for socials.
I chose the book "A Good Girl's Guide to Murder," the first book in the series. Using references from the book, I created a book cover that told the story without giving anything away. I created the template with measurements on Illustrator, edited assets using Photoshop, and then put that design on various mockups to test the design and make any changes. Using typography as well as the design principles that I learned in this class, I created a series of designs, which resulted in an A on this assignment. This was great practice on measurements, design, as well as creating Instagram carousels, which helped me better my professional work. View the promo reel here!
